MORE INFO

This is not a campaign that tries to align blame to a third party. A faceless conglomerate.

It is neither to do with getting other people to shoulder the blame, nor the cost for something that we have done.

This campaign hopes to ensure that supermarkets understand the impact of what is happening, and to shoulder their own share of the responsibility.

For far to long we the consumers in this country have paid the price with deminishing land fill sites and  rising council taxes. Tme is already running out. Please dont let our beutiful countryside become a toxic dump.

Did you know that on average your local authority pays £32 per tonne in order to ship unrecyclable plastic (plastic that we have no way of recycling) out of the country by waste disposal firms. This expense is then added to our council tax bills.  The more we recycle the more this charge will rise.

Yet most if not all of the un-recyclable plastics produced in this country is created by the supermarkets who tell us this is what the customers want, that we are asking for it.

Packaging is also a way for supermarkets to minimise their waste disposal costs. For example, today, supermarkets are packaging foods "shelf-ready". This means the product can be put straight from the container onto the shelf. In this sense, the supermarkets are passing the cost of their waste-disposal bills onto the consumer.

Enough is enough.

Why are we increasingly being told that we have to continually recycle more & more. Therefore it leads on that we must pay more & more.

The answer ultimatly lies with The Supermarkets who are trying to wash their hands of this mess, A mess Which they themselves have created by over packaging the food that they produce.

I urge you all to sign this petition today before it`s to late,  make the difference.

"We have run out of time lets hope we dont run out of space".
